Breaking News—A Petro-China tanker containing Enbridge oil en route to Beijing has run aground in the Strait of Georgia this morning, spilling crude oil into the water. A spokesperson for Enbridge, Jessica Armstrong, has said “Enbridge Pipeline Ltd. holds that Petro-China and the government of China are at fault, and would stipulate that any payments related to environmental damage and the tanker should be covered by the Chinese.
A spokeperson for Petro-China has stated that “any cost should be covered by Enbridge, whose oil this tanker was transporting. We deny any allegations that we should pay for this incident.”
Meanwhile, the B.C. government is simply looking for a solution.
